Minis & Juniors Update 2023/24

Across the minis and juniors we have seen some changes over the last few months. With James Hatherway taking on the Junior chair role and passing on the Mini’s chair to Tom Oliver. I hope you all join us in thanking James for his efforts as mini’s chairman and wish both James and Tom all the very best in their new roles.

Last season we had a wonderful spectacle across the M&J’s and we hosted multiple games and events at the club, topped off with hosting the county cup final at the end of the season, which was a huge success. This season we will be hosting the U13 county cup, which should be a great day for our new juniors.

Spotlight on the current U16’s – Last season the squad managed the huge achievement of winning the League (division A) and the County cup!

They had a great run of winning results throughout the season but made it hard for themselves within the league by losing at home to Harpenden. Which meant the league winners came down to the final game of the season, away for Friday night lights at Ealing Trailfinders.

The game was simply amazing with us scoring early on to set the pace of the match, but als we were 26-12 down at half time. To come back to win 26-34 with a drop goal on the final whistle to more than secure the League win.

The U16’s are made up of two teams both playing really competitive rugby and have five players that have gone on to play in PDG (county) and 2 players recently played for Saracens U16s Vs London Irish.

Let’s hope they have as great a season this year!

Scott Bachmann,

Former Junior Chairman
