On the Sunday morning, OA’s U13’s hosted a mini 7’s festival at Woollams with The Bokkerijders and a team from Chess Valley .Whilst OA’s U15’s played the older Dutch lads along with Harpenden and another touring side from Evesham and the Dutch girls also travelled over to Redbourn Lane to work with Harpendens Girls.
RC Bokkerijders ,from Roermond, had hosted OA’s U13’s on last season’s tour to southern Holland/Germany and it was great to repay the great hospitality they had shown the OA’s.
Steve Pope for OA’s U13’s says “ We play/coach rugby for lots of reasons but above all to have fun and make new friends, both at home and further afield. This weekend was great fun with The Bokkerijders and allowed our young players and their families to grow their friendships with a lovely bunch of people and to share some great rugby memories together. We are also grateful for our friends and neighbours locally for getting involved in these plans too and adding to the fun and experience for the young Dutch players.”
