OAs u12 and u13 age groups were proud to host a rugby festival under lights on Wednesday 28th November for over 150 senior schools boys from 8 different local St Albans and Harpenden schools and a representative side from each age group.
The festival gave the schools the platform to play lots of competitive rugby against a wide range of opposition that they may not normally get to play and the young players had the excitement of playing under floodlights and on the clubs 1st class pitches.
Steve Pope for OA’s Mini and Juniors said –
“ This was a great opportunity for OA’s ,as the major local rugby club, to support local schools rugby and give many boys new to the game at year 7 and year 8 the opportunity to play lots of fun rugby in a great environment. For a number of the boys this will have been the 1st time they will have played at a rugby club and we hope we have encouraged them to join their local club and get more involved in this great game for young people “
