Saints got back to winning ways after grinding out a win against a tough Hove side at home to close out 2019.

They came into the game looking to bounce back after last weeks defeat and subsequent fall in the table.

The game started with an interception try from Hove after some loose passing from the Saints backs to take the away side into the lead, 7-0.

The Saints rallied and forced a turnover in the opposition half. The big Hove pack couldn’t keep up with a frantic pace the Saints we’re playing at. After building the phases deep in the 22, Chloe Allcorn to crash over from short range to reduce the deficit 5-7.

Shortly after opening their account, they added to their lead with a try from a brilliant strike move off a lineout, leading to Siobhan Drummond to dive over under the posts, to take the Saints into the lead, 12-7.

In a scoreless second half, the home side’s defence was tireless. Maintaining fantastic line-speed, the Saints kept out a constant onslaught from Hove the finish the game 12-7.
