Worthing Radiers
Albanians will look back on this afternoon’s work with pride. Last week’s narrow defeat at Taunton fed confidence into the young OA side and visitors Worthing Raiders felt the unfortunate backlash. Eight tries to two meant a thoughtful return to the South coast.
Full Back Dan Watt, soon to travel the world, bossed the lively OA back division in commanding style, unleashing this potent strike force almost at will. Only two tries were credited to the pack but their stern work made the possession advantage possible.
Defence again was sound and the only time the Raiders escaped the OA shackles was at either end of the second half. Tom Gwyther touched down just after the break and old stager Kiba Richards, these days wearing No 8, fought his way over with the last move of the match. Matt McLean converted both to go with his earlier penalty.
The rest was pretty much one way traffic as Conor Gracey, Joe Butler, Alex Ricci and Nic Defeo produced a bonus point even before the half hour mark.
Tim Bond, Mike Hogan, Defeo again and Josh Hallett notched four more before the end. Butler converted seven out of eight.
Henley, this day, put paid to TJs unbeaten record and will host Albanians next Saturday. It will be an exciting afternoon in Berkshire. Kick off 15.00hrs.
