Senior Men's Update

Club develops record number of colts to senior players and 2s Romans enter new league with Cambridge 2s.

The 2022/23 season saw both consolidation and huge growth in our senior men's sides and we enter the new season in our Our 2s Romans have continued their growth under head coach Eddie Panting’s stewardship to develop current and former youth players to senior and national level. Tom Wilton, Ben Alexander and Charlie Brunt all progressed to 1st team mens games last season marking the success of this strategy.

This season started with our highest ever number of current and last year’s Colts playing senior rugby matches on Saturday with Stan Bedwood, Rhys Barham, Fred Hunter, Josh Watson, Ragib Chowdhury, Matt Hayhurst, Will Jackson, Jamie Graham, Elliot Diprose, Harry Crawly, Matt Burson, Jack Brighton and Dan Williams amongst many others who trained pre-season.

Congratulations to them and we welcome the next Colts to come.
It is credit to the new link up we now have with ex 2s player coach Phil Brunt now Head Coach of the Colts and the many other senior coaches in Colts with links to the senior club.

Having had a very successful season in Essex Merit Premier the 2s will now play in the new league Hertfordshire Associated Clubs created for high level 2s sides including Hertford, Eton Manor, and Championship side Cambridge’s development squad.

Gladiators 3s reforms as occasional friendly side to develop youth players and provide good fixtures for seniors

Our 3s Gladiators side will play good level friendlies this season and is structured to be the bridge into senior rugby for U17 and U18s Colts combining with experienced senior level players coaching and guiding them on the pitch and post game!
