The scrum was secure and profitable; the lineout dependable and forceful; loose play was attended to with pressure, detail and alacrity; opportunity was taken whenever it offered; defence was fierce and constant; thus Tonbridge Juddians profitted on a day perfect for running rugby.
For all but the first few minutes of this encounter Old Albanian played catchup and, accordingly, suffered from mistakes which occur naturally when a side is under pressure and trying desperately to stay in touch with opponents for whom the running of the game got easier as time went on.
There were personnel changes from the match last week but that is something which will always happen in any level of rugby.
Mike Bond crossed for the hosts minutes in. Then TJs put their Lineout to good use with a catch and drive converted by Sam Evans. Into the second quarter Tom Kendrick crossed with an Evans conversion. Two Jones penalties brought half time.
The third quarter sealed Albanian doom with 20 unanswered TJ points, three tries, one converted, and a penalty.
Ajeigbe answered for the hosts and got his brace two minutes from time. TJ hooker Holling had crossed in the meantime.
