The Grizzlies season continues to be an up and down one having played 11 with 6 won and 5 lost. With lots of postponed and cancelled matches due to weather and lack of player numbers from all teams it’s been hard to build any momentum. This weekend just gone was a rest week which was well needed after a tough, bruising 19 – 31 loss to a strong Welwyn 2XVs side the week before. We have started matches well this season, which hasn’t always been a strong point of ours but we found ourselves leading the match at half time only to run out of steam in the second half.
This coming Saturday we travel to Weston where we fully expect a tough matchup as they seek revenge over the loss they had when they came to Woollams. It’s a short season this year with only 8 other teams in our league and we don’t have the usual Cup run. But we have 3 more fixtures to play plus a couple of postponed fixtures that need rescheduling. Hopefully we can get some supporters down to cheer us on at our last home game, on the 18th Feb.
11th. Feb – Weston – Away
18th Feb – St. Albans 2XVs – Home
4th March – Harpenden 3XVs – Away.
Shelford 4XVs and Bishops Stortford Abbotts both away games TBC.
